About The Author

Wayne J. du Maine is currently an adjunct professor at the New York University Steinhardt School of Music. He has been featured as a soloist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and many orchestras throughout the United States. Wayne has been a staple in the New York City free lance scene performing and recording with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for 34 years, the New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, American Composers Orchestra, Brooklyn, Westchester and Long Island Philharmonics, New York City Opera, Springfield Symphony (MA), Hartford Symphony, Sphinx Symphony, Harlem Chamber Players, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and The Knights.

Wayne is a member of the Manhattan Brass and has taught trumpet at the Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School, Columbia University, Princeton University and New York University, where he lead the Brass Program. Many of his students have created successful careers in the classical and jazz worlds.

 

Wayne has been contracted to play numerous Broadway musicals like Titanic, Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, South Pacific, King and I and My Fair Lady just to name a few. He has subbed on over 20 shows!

 

As a conductor, Wayne has lead the NYU Orchestras, Westchester and Brooklyn Philharmonic, Hartford Symphony and has been an assistant conductor for the Broadway Musicals Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific and the Scottsboro Boys.

 

Wayne dedicates his Summers participating in festivals at Aspen, Spoleto, Tanglewood with Leonard Bernstein, Vermont Mozart, Berkshire Choral, Marlboro, Walt Disney World All American College Marching Band, Bar Harbor Brass Week, Bowdoin, Taconic and the New England Music Camp.
